WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS FROM DYSPORT?

WHAT PREPARATION IS NEEDED FOR DYSPORT?
To minimize the risk of bruising or swelling, follow these simple guidelines 7 to 10 days before your appointment:
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and other NSAIDs
- Pause blood-thinning supplements like vitamin E, fish oil, turmeric, or St. John’s Wort
- Limit alcohol for at least 24 hours before treatment
- Notify your provider if you have a history of cold sores or are taking prescription medications
If you’re taking aspirin or similar medications for health reasons, continue taking them unless otherwise advised by your doctor.
WHAT CAN I ANTICIPATE AFTER TREATMENT?
There’s little to no downtime after Dysport. Some redness, swelling, or pinpoint marks at the injection site may occur, but these typically fade within an hour. Bruising is uncommon but possible.
After treatment, we recommend:
- No vigorous exercise for 4 hours
- Don’t rub or massage the treated area
- Stay upright — avoid lying flat — for at least 4 hours
Makeup can usually be applied after 15 minutes. If you feel mild tenderness or tightness, it will subside quickly. Tylenol can be used if needed.
DOES DYSPORT HURT?
The treatment is quick and well tolerated by most people. You’ll feel a small pinch or light pressure with each injection, but discomfort is brief. If you’re sensitive, we can apply a topical numbing cream or use ice to reduce sensation.
After treatment, any soreness is mild and typically goes away within a few hours.
IS DYSPORT SAFE?
Yes, Dysport is FDA-approved and has been used safely for over a decade in both cosmetic and medical settings. Side effects are rare and usually mild. These may include slight redness, tenderness, or swelling at the injection site.
