WHAT IS JUVEDERM?
Juvederm is one of the most widely known dermal fillers in the world. Known for its smooth consistency, natural results, and versatility, Juvederm is made from hyaluronic acid — a substance naturally found in the body that helps maintain hydration, elasticity, and volume in the skin.
As we age, our bodies produce less hyaluronic acid, which leads to volume loss, fine lines, wrinkles, and a general thinning of facial features. Juvederm works by restoring that lost volume and smoothing out unwanted lines. Results are immediate, long-lasting, and highly customizable, making Juvederm a reliable choice for facial enhancement.
At Injector 5280, we offer the full Juvederm family of products: Juvederm Ultra, Ultra Plus, Voluma, Volux, and Volbella — each designed for specific areas of the face and treatment goals.
JUVEDERM ULTRA
Juvederm Ultra is a soft, smooth filler commonly used to enhance the lips and fill mild to moderate facial lines. It’s an excellent choice for patients who want subtle volume, definition, and hydration, particularly in the lips or nasolabial folds.
- Enhances and hydrates the lips for a plump, soft appearance
- Improves definition along the lip border and Cupid’s bow
- Softens smile lines (nasolabial folds) and marionette lines
- Offers a natural, flexible feel — ideal for areas with movement
Results from Juvederm Ultra typically last 6 to 12 months.
JUVEDERM ULTRA PLUS
Juvederm Ultra Plus is a thicker version of Juvederm Ultra. It’s designed to treat deeper lines and areas of volume loss while still offering a soft, smooth finish. Its higher viscosity makes it more effective in lifting and contouring moderate to severe facial folds.
- Fills deeper nasolabial folds and marionette lines
- Adds structure to facial contours such as cheeks and chin
- Enhances lip volume with a more noticeable plumpness
- Restores youthful fullness in areas showing early signs of aging
Ultra Plus typically lasts 9 to 12 months, depending on the area and your body’s metabolism.
JUVEDERM VOLUMA
Juvederm Voluma is formulated specifically for deep volume restoration. It’s most commonly used in the mid-face to lift the cheeks, define the cheekbones, and restore youthful contour to the face.
As we age, we naturally lose volume in the cheeks due to a decline in bone, fat, and skin support. Voluma helps reverse this by reintroducing structure and lift.
- Restores cheek volume and enhances cheekbone definition
- Lifts and supports the mid-face, reducing the appearance of jowls and smile lines
- Can be used to add projection to the chin and jawline
- Improves facial balance and overall profile
Voluma is one of the longest-lasting fillers available, with results often lasting up to 18–24 months.
JUVEDERM VOLUX
Juvederm Volux is the newest addition to the Juvederm family and is FDA-approved specifically for sculpting and defining the lower face. It’s a firm, highly structured filler ideal for shaping the jawline and enhancing chin projection.
Volux is often used in patients who want a stronger jawline, more defined facial angles, or better harmony between the lower face and the rest of their features.
- Defines and sharpens the jawline
- Improves the appearance of jowls or a recessed chin
- Balances lower-face proportions
- Creates a more contoured, youthful profile
Volux is designed to last 12–18 months depending on the treatment area and individual metabolism.
JUVEDERM VOLBELLA
Volbella is a soft, smooth filler designed specifically for delicate areas such as the lips and under the eyes. It provides subtle volume and hydration while smoothing fine lines.
At Injector 5280, Volbella is often used for patients who want a natural, hydrated lip look without dramatic plumping. It’s also a go-to product for filling tear troughs (under-eye hollows) thanks to its low water attraction and gentle consistency.
- Softens vertical lip lines (smoker’s lines)
- Adds definition to the lips while maintaining a natural feel
- Hydrates and smooths the lip surface
- Reduces under-eye hollowness (tear troughs)
Volbella typically lasts 9–12 months.

HOW IS JUVEDERM ADMINISTERED?
Juvederm treatments begin with a consultation and facial assessment to understand your goals and determine the best product(s) for your needs. Based on this plan, we’ll select the appropriate filler from the Juvederm family.
Before injecting, we apply a topical numbing cream and/or ice to maximize comfort. Most Juvederm products also contain lidocaine, a built-in anesthetic that helps reduce discomfort during injection.
The filler is then injected using a fine needle or cannula into specific layers of the skin or deeper tissues, depending on the area treated. The entire process usually takes 30 to 60 minutes.
PREPARATION BEFORE TREATMENT
To reduce the risk of bruising and swelling:
- Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, and NSAIDs 7–10 days before treatment
- Pause supplements such as fish oil, vitamin E, and turmeric
- Limit alcohol 24 hours before your appointment
- Let us know if you’ve had recent cold sores or are prone to them
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT
We begin every treatment by mapping out your facial structure and discussing your goals. A topical numbing cream and/or ice is applied for comfort. Most Juvederm fillers also contain lidocaine, which helps minimize discomfort during the injection.
The procedure typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes depending on the area treated.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
- You may experience mild swelling, redness, or tenderness, which usually subsides within a few hours to a couple of days
- Bruising is possible but can be minimized with proper prep and technique
- Do not rub or massage the treated areas unless instructed to do so
- Makeup can be applied 15–30 minutes after treatment
- Tylenol can be taken if needed for any minor discomfort
Results are immediate, though final results may take up to 48 hours to fully settle as swelling subsides.
HOW LONG DOES JUVEDERM LAST?
Each product in the Juvederm family has a slightly different lifespan depending on its formulation and the area treated:
- Juvederm Ultra: 6–12 months
- Juvederm Ultra Plus: 9–12 months
- Juvederm Voluma: 18–24 months
- Juvederm Volux: 12–18 months
- Juvederm Volbella: 9–12 months
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?
Juvederm provides immediate results. You’ll notice enhanced volume and smoother contours right after your appointment. Over the next 24–48 hours, the filler will settle as any mild swelling or redness subsides. Hyaluronic acid also binds with water in the skin, so you may continue to see subtle improvement over the first few days.
Lips and areas prone to swelling (like under the eyes) may take slightly longer to reveal the final result. Most patients see full results within 1 to 3 days.
PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE
Like all fillers, Juvederm results gradually wear off over time as the body naturally breaks down the product. To maintain results, we recommend scheduled maintenance treatments based on your goals, anatomy, and lifestyle.
With regular upkeep, Juvederm not only maintains volume but also supports collagen stimulation and skin elasticity — helping you age more gracefully and confidently.
